About

ABOUT LEARN BRIEFLY

Education is bigger than school.

There is a particular moment almost everyone experiences. You realise you need to learn something.
Maybe you’re leaving secondary school and trying to decide what comes next.
Maybe you’re a university graduate wondering whether another qualification is actually worth it.
Maybe you’re considering a career change.
Maybe you’re a parent trying to understand the educational choices available to your child.

Maybe you’ve simply reached a point in life where you know:
I need to learn something new.

And then the questions begin.
What should I learn?
Where should I learn it?
How much will it cost?
Do I need a degree?
Is there another route?
Which course is actually worth taking?
Which resources can I trust?
What should I learn first?

And perhaps the biggest question of all:
What should I do next?

Learn Briefly was created for that moment.

WHAT IS LEARN BRIEFLY?

A guide to the world of learning.

Learn Briefly is an education and lifelong-learning guidance platform helping people understand what to learn, why it matters, where to learn it and what to do next. We make the enormous world of education easier to navigate.

Through short Briefs, practical Guides, curated Resources and personalised Advisory services, we help people make more informed decisions about learning.

Our starting point is Nigeria and Africa.
Our perspective is global.
Our belief is simple: Education should be useful.

WHY WE EXIST

Because information alone isn’t enough. Today, finding information is easier than ever. Search engines can give you thousands of results, social media can give you hundreds of recommendations, online platforms can give you thousands of courses, universities offer countless programmes and books cover almost every subject imaginable.

There has never been a greater abundance of learning opportunities. But abundance creates another problem:
How do you navigate it?

More options can create more confusion.
More information can create information overload.
More qualifications can make it harder to understand which ones actually matter.
More advice can make it difficult to hear your own goals.

Learn Briefly exists to provide orientation. We help people make sense of the landscape before they decide where to go.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe education is bigger than school.
School matters.
Universities matter.
Degrees matter.
Certificates matter.
Teachers matter.

But they are not the whole story. Education can also happen through:

  • Books.
  • Experience.
  • Work.
  • Apprenticeships.
  • Mentors.
  • Communities.
  • Courses.
  • Practice.
  • Conversation.
  • Observation.
  • Experimentation.
  • Self-directed learning.
  • Life itself.

We therefore don’t believe there is one perfect educational pathway for everyone.
For one person, university may be exactly right.
For another, vocational training may be better.
Someone else may need professional certification.
Another person may benefit from an apprenticeship.
Another may build an extraordinary career through self-directed learning.

The question isn’t:
“Which pathway is universally best?”

The question is:
“Which pathway makes sense for this person, for this purpose, at this point in their life?”

That is the kind of question Learn Briefly wants to help people answer.

LEARNING SHOULD LEAD SOMEWHERE

We don’t believe in learning for the sake of collecting information.
Learning can be valuable simply because understanding something is valuable.

But learning can also help us:

  • Think better.
  • Work better.
  • Create.
  • Earn.
  • Build.
  • Solve problems.
  • Communicate.
  • Adapt.
  • Make decisions.
  • Participate.
  • Contribute.
  • Live more intentionally.

The purpose of learning will look different for different people, that’s okay. Learn Briefly isn’t here to prescribe one definition of success. We’re here to help people make more informed choices about the knowledge and skills they pursue.

WHY NIGERIA AND AFRICA?

Learn Briefly begins from Nigeria and Africa because educational conversations should not be disconnected from the realities of the people they’re meant to serve.

Africa has an extraordinary and diverse learning landscape. There are established universities and emerging institutions, traditional education and alternative pathways, formal qualifications and informal learning, and local opportunities and increasingly global possibilities.

Digital education is changing how people access knowledge, remote work is changing how skills translate into opportunity, technology is changing how people learn, and millions of people are navigating these changes without always having clear guidance.

We want Learn Briefly to become one of the places they can turn to. But we don’t want to build an African platform that looks inward. We want to build an African platform that understands its context and engages confidently with the world.

Rooted in Africa.
Open to the world.
